This is Madame Gérant. She lives in the village of Bois de Lance in the Ranquitte region of Haiti. With her permission we are posting before and after photos of the rebuild of her house, made possible through an international group effort.
Her house – both roof and walls – is the second house to be worked on with funds from profits raised through the sale of the Bystander / Old Ghosts split vinyl LP which came out last year on State of Mind Recordings in the USA, and in Europe, both Goodwill Records as well as Ugly and Proud Records.
Enough funds from record sales remain for one more house to be worked on before we move onto building a house with money from an anonymous USA donor who sent $300 specifically for the purpose of building one. Then we will begin to use the money raised at the Chuminh benefit in Seattle on Jan 2 2021.
